PROVIDE: New Life is committed to impacting the masses with the love of Christ by providing a facility within the Laurel community, which will meet the physical, social, economic and spiritual needs that are the reality in this diverse city.
It is the passionate belief of Pastor and Co-Pastor Harris that a church should have a positive relationship with its community, that fosters hope by providing answers and solutions to the problems of everyday life. With this belief, New Life anticipates purchasing the entire Pheasant Run Shopping Plaza. The Plaza's 20,000 overall square footage will allow the ministry to have adequate space for an outreach center, day care center, Christian school, book store, youth center, and gymnasium. The additional 2.4 acres adjacent to the Plaza will be the site for the future Worship Center.
History
New Life Christian Center is the outgrowth of a vision given to Pastor A.L. Harris by God. Birthed out of an earnest zeal to see lost souls connect with the living God, the name of the church was derived from St. John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life and that life more abundantly.”
The genesis of New Life Christian Center was quite humble. The church opened its doors for Bible Study on Wednesday, March 6, 1996 at the Holiday Inn in Laurel, Maryland. Pastor Harris taught from the Book of Revelation. The first Sunday Morning Worship Service was held on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1996, and was also held at the Holiday Inn. Many friends and family members attended the inaugural service. Pastor Harris preached from I Thessalonians 5:1-6 and the message was entitled “Wake Up! This humble commencement was the fulfillment of the Lord’s call for Pastor and Co-Pastor Harris to establish a ministry in the Laurel area. By December 31, 1996 New Life was able to secure a building just in time for the New Year’s Eve Service.
In January of 2003, in continuation of the vision set by God, New Life transitioned from the Church of God in Christ denomination to become a member of Calvary Alliance of Churches and Ministries, headed by Founder and Overseer Bishop B. Courtney McBath, Pastor of Calvary Revival Church. The organization’s headquarters are located in Norfolk, Virginia.
God has blessed New Life Christian Center with an anointed Pastor and Co-Pastor who love the Lord and desire to do His will. Through the power and grace of God, Pastor Harris' vision to edify the body of Christ by serving with excellence while displaying love and humility, will be actualized. It is the mission of the ministry to let the world know that Jesus came so that we might have a more abundant “New Life” in Him.

OUR BELIEF CONCERNING THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God
OUR BELIEF CONCERNING GOD
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
OUR BELIEF CONCERING THE CHURCH
We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return.
OUR BELIEF CONCERNING SIN
We believe that the only means of being cleansed fom sin is through repentance, faith in teh precious blood of Jesus Christ and accepting the gospel according to Romans 10:9-10
OUR BELIEF CONCERNING SALVATION
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
OUR BELIEF CONCERNING CHRIST
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.
OUR BELIEF CONCERNING SANTIFICATION
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.
